A multinational 3PL provider is offering a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic First Line Manager to join their prestigious FMCG contract in Allington.

Offering a permanent contract on 4 on 4 off days, you will performance manage 30 colleagues and ensure that KPIs continue to be hit or exceeded. Working within a fast moving new food contract, you will be well rewarded. The Warehouse First Line Manager package includes a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum, private medical insurance, dental insurance, and a bonus scheme. You will be responsible for ensuring that the operations in your given area of the warehouse run smoothly by engaging employees whilst ensuring that H&S compliance is adhered to. With this being a new contract, Warehouse First Line managers are expected to show drive and determination to motivate this new team.

FLM Duties

  • Assisting the Shift Manager in the daily pick and pack, stock replenishment operations in order to meet the agreed KPIs
  • Managing worker issues such as payment queries, holidays and uniform regulation
  • Monitoring staff performance and successfully mentoring underperforming colleagues
  • Leading your team to achieve Operational KPI's such as productivity, quality, stock integrity, service and attendance
  • Building relationships quickly on site in order to maintain a strong team
  • Carrying out effective team meetings to help deliver process improvements and optimise day to day performance
  • Completing reports on team performance as requested by the General Manager, management team and Customer in a professional and timely manner
  • Support the resolution of specific performance issues or complaints regarding service levels from the customer or other areas
  • Actively seek ways to improve processes and show flexibility with regards to implementing changes in the operation
  • Handle extra agency workforce during peak periods of this busy retail contract
  • Display some flexibility with regards to covering alternative shifts as and when needed for covering holiday/sickness


  • A willingness to work 4 on 4 off days - you must be flexible to fit the needs of the operation
  • At least 3 years' experience within a busy warehouse environment, ideally from within a food or FMCG distribution warehouse
  • Must have experience of managing warehouse colleagues at First Line Manager (FLM) level upwards
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to hold authority in a new team
  • A proven track record of managing a team independently
  • Ability to work within a challenging environment whilst maintaining a calm demeanour
  • Previous experience in HR processes such as investigations or disciplinaries
