Area Manager

One of our most prestigious clients based in Leeds, is seeking an Area Manager to be responsible for the performance of 5 Depots in the East of the country. This role is for a leader who has strong background in operations and Leadership of teams. You will be responsible for operational and budgetary targets, alongside being responsible for delivery of strategic improvements across the business. Being an inspirational leader and developing staff is key for this high profile role. The ideal candidate will have previously held/hold CPC or O'licence and have strong background knowledge in Health and safety legislation.

This role will suit a Senior Manager who is experienced in operational logistics and being familiar with working practices and expectations of major e-commerce businesses would be advantageous.

In return the company will pay a competitive basic salary up to £70k depending on experience, company car or car allowance, private medical, pension plus benefits, 34 Days Holiday (including bank holidays) with opportunities to grow a career across a multi-site business.

Reporting to the head of Depots, the Area Manager duties include:

  • Managing Performance of 5 Depots allocated, in the East Region of the country
  • Working closely with planning teams ensuring areas are prepared for increase in product volumes
  • People processes: developing direct reports and promote a positive employee culture
  • Ensuring that the sites are legally compliant with the O-license and leading forward H&S
  • Ensuring each Depot are performing against their operational and budgetary targets
  • Development of Staff increasing efficiencies in depots

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of delivering results at Area Manager level
  • Experience of managing multi-sites/Depots
  • Logistics/Distribution network experience
  • The dedication to work hours necessary according to business needs
  • High level networking and relationship building skills with senior stakeholders
  • Previous experience managing large commercial budgets
  • Held/Hold a CPC or O'licence
